2024 Milan Fashion Week Blog: Behind the Scenes at Leonardo da Vinci’s Museum

This year, I had the incredible opportunity to showcase my collection in none other than Leonardo da Vinci’s museum. The Setting: Leonardo da Vinci’s Museum

Picture this: centuries of innovation and artistry within the walls of one of the most iconic museums in the world. Showing my collection at such a historic venue felt surreal. The venue’s ambiance—the vaulted ceilings, the rich sense of history—added a layer of depth and storytelling to every piece that walked the runway. It was as if the spirit of creativity that Leonardo embodied infused the show with even more significance. 

The Collection: A SEQUIN Western Revival with a Twist

For my second collection with the World Sustainability Organization, I presented a lineup that blended Western aesthetics with a youthful and modern perspective. This collection was an exploration of sequined vintage pieces paired with edgy leather shorts, creating an eye-catching contrast of textures. Fringe jackets added movement and drama, while camoflauge provided that timeless Americana flair.

To bring a fresh twist, I infused elements of Asian-inspired details, creating a fusion that felt both nostalgic and innovative. This collection catered to a younger demographic, embracing a more playful and vibrant energy, while remaining accessible for my current clients who appreciate timeless yet daring design.

Each piece told a story, crafted from upcycled fabrics and vintage textiles. Staying true to my sustainable roots, every detail was a testament to the beauty of mindful design. I expanded and pushed myself creatively to craft unique pieces out of sustainable fabrics, especially my signature styles, which added a personal and distinctive touch to the collection. The museum’s backdrop elevated the pieces, making it an unforgettable showcase.

Sustainability at the Forefront

This show also marked another milestone as a designer certified by the World Sustainability Organization. Sustainability has always been at the heart of my brand, and this milestone felt like a full-circle moment. Sharing a runway with others who are championing ethical and responsible fashion was inspiring and reaffirmed my commitment to this path.
